Box Founds Future of Work Council to Bring Together Leaders From Innovative Enterprises Like American Express, NIKE and Farmers Insurance®

More than 45 forward-thinking IT and HR leaders come together with technology providers to rethink the digital workplace

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--()--Box (NYSE:BOX) today announced that it is joining with Workplace by Facebook and Okta to form the Future of Work Council, a working group of leaders, including both senior IT and HR executives at enterprises from various industries focused on rethinking the culture, skills, organization and technology required to enable the future of work in the digital age. The Future of Work Council will meet regularly to review research, share ideas and develop best practices for enabling, managing and securing the digital workplace. The inaugural meeting will take place this week from May 9-10.

“The world is changing how it works on a near daily basis. There’s a new generation of workers with different expectations and cultural norms. Business is more global, real-time and connected. Security challenges are enormous, and compliance and privacy are only getting more complex,” said Aaron Levie, CEO and cofounder of Box. “Given these tectonic shifts, it’s incredibly important to bring creative leaders together to rethink how businesses can securely embrace the digital age.”

Member companies of the Future of Work Council represent a mix of industries and include large, innovative enterprises, such as American Express, NIKE, Pfizer, Farmers Insurance, Deloitte, Heidrick & Struggles, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Eli Lilly. All participating companies strive for greater collaboration and agility in their businesses, as well as leverage human capital to increase competitive advantage and achieve their organizations’ missions.

The Future of Work Council is co-hosted by Box, Workplace by Facebook and Okta and will convene this week at Box headquarters in Redwood City, CA and Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park, CA. The meeting will include industry and academic experts on the digital workplace, technology leaders and a moderated member exchange of best practices.

“People, not just technology, will define the future of work. Understanding their changing needs, expectations and demands is critical to building what the future of work will look like,” said Julien Cordorniou, Vice President, Workplace by Facebook. “As the world of work becomes more open, connected and faster-moving, it’s more important than ever for business leaders to keep an open dialogue and work together towards the common goal of enabling the digital workplace, which is why we are so excited to be joining Box in this effort.”

“The modern workplace is being transformed in a revolutionary way through the use of technology. As leading technology vendors, it’s our responsibility to help organizations — of every size, in every industry and in every region — keep up. Okta’s vision is to enable any organization to adopt any technology, and we’re committed to not only helping our 4,000+ customers employ best-of-breed tools and applications, but also to working with organizations around the world to determine how we can enable and secure the future of work,” said Mark Settle CIO of Okta.
