TREVOSE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rita’s Italian Ice is excited to announce the first-ever National Italian Ice Day, happening this Thursday, May 3, 2018. National Italian Ice Day will honor and celebrate the treat Rita’s has built its brand on — Italian ice. Rita’s has been serving up its signature recipe of this sweet treat for more than 30 years and believes there is no better way to recognize Italian ice than with a day dedicated to the frozen delight.
Linda Chadwick, president and CEO of Rita’s Italian Ice, wants Rita’s to be “home base” for Italian ice lovers everywhere on the holiday. “We’re creating National Italian Ice Day as the perfect way to celebrate the treat that has made Rita’s who we are today. We want to give Rita’s fans and Italian ice lovers alike a dedicated opportunity to celebrate the frozen treat we all love.”
Alongside the national holiday, Rita’s will host a “Masterscoop” contest on Facebook — a chance for guests to visit their local Rita’s and create an Italian masterpiece as iconic as the Mona Lisa herself. Fans are encouraged to head to their Rita’s store and create their own work of art with Italian ice and share their photos on social media. The winner of this year’s Masterscoop contest will have their chilled creation featured on Rita’s menu in 2019 on National Italian Ice Day. Think your favorite Rita’s treat is worthy of the Masterscoop title? Fans can also join in by commenting on the contest postings, which are accepted as entries. For official rules, please visit ritasice.com/Masterscoop.
