Stream Launches Energy Services in Ohio

The leading direct selling company now offers electricity services in six Ohio territories

DALLAS--()--Stream (Stream Energy), a leading direct selling company and provider of connected life services, announces its expansion to six energy territories in Ohio on April 24. All other Stream Services (Wireless, Protective and Home) are available nationwide.

Ohio is the ninth state added to Stream’s energy retail provider footprint, following expansions to Illinois and Delaware in the latter half of 2017. The company’s salesforce of Independent Associates began enrolling new residential energy customers on April 24 in the Ohio American Electric Power (AEP), Duke Energy, Dayton Power & Light territories, as well as the First Energy territories of Ohio Edison, Toledo Edison and the Illuminating Company.

“All told, there are 4.2 million residential meters eligible to switch to Stream,” said President and Chief Operating Officer Dan O’Malley. “That spells tremendous opportunity for Stream in 2018 and well into the future as we continue to expand into new markets.”

At launch, Stream is offering residential electricity customers a fixed-rate promotional plan at two percent below the incumbent.

“I’m thrilled to be expanding our energy business into a large state like Ohio. As we move deeper into the Midwest, we’re seeing unbelievable opportunity to introduce more customers to not just our services, but who we are as a company,” said Chief Executive Officer Larry Mondry. “And after this expansion, more great things are on the horizon for Stream. This is going to be a fantastic year.”
