Tetra Tech Releases Annual Sustainability Report Card and Announces Membership in UN Global Compact

PASADENA, Calif.--()--Tetra Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEK) announced today that it released its annual Sustainability Report Card in observance of Earth Day. Each year Tetra Tech reports its progress towards increasing sustainability in its projects, across its operations, and in the community. The Company measures 27 metrics across a suite of categories, including Health & Safety, Human Resources, and Corporate Social Responsibility. Improvements were recorded in 20 out of 27 metrics tracked.

This year’s Sustainability Report Card, titled Advancing Sustainability through Science and Innovation, highlights how Tetra Tech is Leading with Science® to provide state-of-the-art solutions for its clients’ most challenging projects. In 2017 Tetra Tech’s experts developed innovative strategies across its markets and in its more than 60,000 projects. Our sustainable projects improve the management of water, energy, waste, and natural resources; provide resilient infrastructure; and employ innovative technologies to increase sustainable results. Several projects achieved benefits across multiple measures, such as an award-winning design of a mixed-use development in Washington, DC, that reduced water use by 30 percent and reduced energy costs by 12 percent.

As part of its corporate commitment to sustainability, Tetra Tech announced that it recently joined the United Nations Global Compact. As a member of the UN Global Compact, Tetra Tech is part of a group of corporations that have pledged to align business strategy with key principles on human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Tetra Tech’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond its projects and offices and into the community. Our associates raise funds and volunteer their time to improve the lives of people and the environment in their local communities. In 2017 Tetra Tech supported various local, national, and international organizations, including Engineers Without Borders and our Charity of the Year, Voices of African Mothers. Our STEM Program participated in 62 events, reaching nearly 8,000 people.

“This year’s Sustainability Report Card represents Tetra Tech’s commitment to reducing its impact on the environment and to transparency in reporting its progress—a commitment that extends to its 60,000 projects, its 400 offices, and the communities in which we work,” said Dan Batrack, Tetra Tech Chairman and CEO. “As part of our effort to continue improving the sustainability in our operations, Tetra Tech is pleased to become a member of the UN Global Compact—the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative.”
