MIAMI & DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits (“Southern Glazer’s”)—the largest North American wine and spirits distribution company—today announced that it has appointed Randy Barnhart to the role of Vice President, Government Affairs, East Region. In this role, Mr. Barnhart will report directly to Steven Becker, Executive Vice President, Treasurer and Compliance, and work as part of the Company’s Regulatory, Compliance and Government Affairs team. He will be responsible for representing Southern Glazer’s in legislative and regulatory matters, as well as handling trade practice compliance across the Company’s East Region Control States including New Hampshire, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maine, North Carolina, Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia, as well as 5 Open States, including Maryland, District of Colombia, Delaware, Kentucky and South Carolina. Randy will also be responsible for government affairs for Canada.

Randy Barnhart most recently served as Vice President and General Manager of Southern Glazer’s of New England. He began his career in the beverage alcohol business in 1979 in Maryland as a warehouseman and driver for a beer distributor. He joined Joseph E. Seagram & Sons, Inc. in 1983 and worked in various sales and marketing roles during his tenures throughout the East coast. In 2003, he joined United Beverages as a divisional VP of Sales in New Hampshire. Randy joined Southern Glazer’s in 2005 with the Company’s acquisition of United Beverages.
