Denver Tech Companies Launch Colorado Technology Recruiting Coalition to Attract Top Tech Talent

Recruitment venture kicks off multi-channel “Pivot to Colorado” campaign to highlight Denver tech scene, targeting engineers, product developers and leaders from Silicon Valley

DENVER--()--Today, a consortium of Denver’s most recognized technology companies have partnered with state and city economic organizations to form the Colorado Technology Recruiting Coalition (CTRC). The Coalition will promote Colorado as one of the country’s fastest-growing tech hubs and recruit world-class tech talent. The first target market is Silicon Valley and the greater San Francisco Bay Area.

The Coalition’s new “Pivot to Colorado website will showcase Colorado’s vibrant tech ecosystem and dynamic opportunities available for talented engineers, product developers and tech leaders. Throughout 2018, the campaign will elevate awareness of Colorado’s thriving tech scene and connect tech talent with key CTRC charter member job opportunities on the “Pivot to Colorado” website.

The campaign will feature the faces of Colorado’s tech scene, and highlight “Pivot” stories of tech transplants whose contributions have helped shape the state’s growth as a tech hub. Coalition members will share and promote career opportunities and local company successes on the CTRC website and advertising channels, with the goal of hiring multiple high-quality candidates at each charter company.

“Colorado is home to nearly 11,000 technology companies, and a new company is formed in the state every 72 hours,” said Stephanie Copeland, executive director of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. “Colorado has the nation’s second most educated labor pool and third greatest concentration of tech talent in the country, and this campaign highlights our vibrant ecosystem and the incredible opportunities for innovators from around the country to make their mark here in Colorado’s thriving tech sector.”

With a robust mix of startups, growth stage and mature public companies, Colorado’s tech sector is attracting investment and accolades. Last year alone, Denver startups received more than $500 million in funding, and Glassdoor rated Denver as number four on its list of the best cities for getting a tech job, citing, among other factors, its lower cost of living and a place where engineers were able to stretch their dollars further.

“Our city’s already fast-paced growth is not slowing down, and it is important that the public and private sectors work together to be prepared for what’s ahead,” said Tami Door, president and CEO of the Downtown Denver Partnership. “The efforts of the Colorado Technology Recruiting Coalition will ensure that when the best and the brightest companies seek to relocate and expand to Denver, we are well-equipped with the world-class talent they need.”

Charter tech company members of the Coalition include Four Winds Interactive, Gusto, Healthgrades, HomeAdvisor, Ibotta, Ping Identity, SendGrid, Workday and Xero. The Coalition’s public partners include The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, Colorado Technology Association and the Downtown Denver Partnership.

“The collaborative and dedicated efforts of our Coalition over the last year in contributing to and launching our Pivot to Colorado campaign is an authentic representation of what it’s like to work in the Denver tech community,” said Pattie Money, chief people officer at SendGrid. “We share a common goal, which is the betterment and enrichment of our tech ecosystem, and we always dig in to support one another. We’re excited to launch this campaign and bring in more top talent to Denver.”

The multi-channel “Pivot to Colorado” campaign incorporates the following elements:

  • The “Pivot to Colorado” website
  • Out-of-home media
  • Multi-channel digital marketing
  • Strategic media relations campaign
  • Integrated social media

As the “Pivot to Colorado” campaign unfolds, the Coalition will naturally evolve, targeting additional markets, bringing on additional members and connecting with other Denver-based economic development and promotional activities to continue to elevate the state’s brand as one of the fastest-growing tech hubs in the country.
