Cogstate Receives Health Canada Marketing Authorization for Latest Healthcare Offering

Announcing LifeSpring Physiotherapy as Latest Customer

BOSTON--()--The cognitive science company, Cogstate, today announced that its Healthcare Division recently received Health Canada marketing authorization for its latest Cognigram™ digital cognitive assessment system, and LifeSpring Physiotherapy, an Ontario-based concussion care leader has become the first Canadian implementation partner for the new Cognigram system.

“LifeSpring is proud to offer concussion testing for individuals and teams using the Cognigram system. We intend to use the system to determine athletes’ cognitive baseline evaluations both in and out of season, and to support concussion treatment planning involving return-to-work or return-to-play decisions.” said Ron O’Hare, Owner and Sport Physiotherapist at LifeSpring Physiotherapy.

Storm Volleyball Club is one of the sports organizations supported by LifeSpring Physiotherapy in Ontario, Canada. “We at Storm Volleyball Club believe that taking a lead in sports injury management is extremely important, and we have decided to make routine concussion testing mandatory for our 13U and older athletes. To meet our objectives, we have chosen to work with LifeSpring Physiotherapy for its industry-leading clinic supported by world-class tools,” commented Bo Brkic & Bruce Stafford of Storm Volleyball Club.

“Cogstate Healthcare is excited to bring the latest Cognigram offering into Canada. We are honored to be a part of proactive concussion care for high-performance athletes provided by LifeSpring Physiotherapy and Storm Volleyball,” said Frank Cheng, President of Cogstate Healthcare.

The Cognigram system is a digital cognitive assessment tool with self-administered assessment that can be completed both in-clinic and at-home. For more than ten years, Cogstate has provided concussion testing technologies to numerous sports organizations around the world, including professional sports leagues and teams, universities and colleges, medical centers and physician practices, and high schools. Beyond concussion, the Cognigram system can be used to support brain health management for the elderly population, for cognitive monitoring related to mild cognitive impairment as part of the dementia disease process, as well as cognitive dysfunction and delirium caused by geriatric surgery and other therapeutic interventions.
