Boston Private Announces Partnership with Team IMPACT

Teaming up with those who help and inspire others, Boston Private and Team IMPACT form strategic partnership

BOSTON--()--Boston Private, a leading provider of wealth management, trust and private banking services, today announced its partnership with Team IMPACT, a national nonprofit that connects children facing serious and chronic illnesses with local college athletic teams.

“Boston Private supports a diverse set of organizations that share many of our own values of leadership, and also educate and inspire the people and communities around them,” said Clay Deutsch, CEO, Boston Private. “We’re pleased to partner with an organization such as Team IMPACT and support the deserving children involved with the program.”

Founded in 2011 by a group of Tufts University classmates, Team IMPACT connects children facing serious and chronic illnesses with local college athletic teams, forming lifelong bonds and life-changing outcomes. The program drafts children to college athletic teams for two years, where the child becomes a full-fledged teammate, attending practices, games, team dinners and more. The teams support the children as they battle illnesses and in return their teammates learn lessons on courage and resiliency that aren’t taught on the playing field.

“Team IMPACT has matched nearly 1,400 children with more than 500 colleges and universities across the country,” said Team IMPACT executive director Seth Rosenzweig. “We could not reach this number without the help of strategic partners like Boston Private. We are thrilled to have them join our team, helping change the lives of both the children and college athletes involved.”

“With NCAA March Madness making headlines nationwide, Team IMPACT teaches individuals that life lessons are not always taught in a classroom or on the field but through the bond of being a teammate,” said Deutsch. “Boston Private and its employees are excited to help Team IMPACT reach its goals.”

About Team IMPACT

Team IMPACT is a national nonprofit that connects children facing serious and chronic illnesses with college athletic teams, forming life-long bonds and life-changing outcomes. Since 2011, Team IMPACT has matched nearly 1,400 children with more than 500 colleges and universities in 48 states, reaching over 50,000 participating student-athletes. Team IMPACT has more than 1,000 teams across the country waiting to be matched with children, ages 5-16, who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening or chronic illness and who could benefit from becoming a member of the team.
