Kenco Logistics Joins Blockchain in Transport Alliance

Kenco will work with key industry players to develop industry guidelines for blockchain

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.--()--Kenco Logistics, a leading provider of integrated logistics solutions, real estate services, and material handling equipment, announced today that it has joined the Blockchain in Transport Alliance (BiTA), a forum created for the development of blockchain standards and education for the freight industry. As one of the first third-party logistics providers to join BiTA, Kenco will serve as an industry voice to help guide and develop the standards needed for blockchain to drive the supply chain forward.

“Blockchain is exciting but unfamiliar territory for the supply chain, lacking in industry-set standards. BiTA enables different players within the supply chain to convene and work together to create the necessary guidelines,” said Kristi Montgomery, vice president of innovation at Kenco Logistics. “We’re honored to be a part of BiTA and to play a crucial role in that process – which will be all the more impactful because it is being driven by the industry.”

“In addition to developing blockchain standards, education will be a primary focus of the Blockchain in Transport Alliance and to do both effectively, we need engaged members and parties from all areas of the supply chain,” said Chris Burruss, President of BiTA. “Kenco Logistics fills these roles nicely and is a natural fit for BiTA. The services they offer, from real estate, to distribution and fulfillment services, and even IT applications, Kenco Logistics touches so many aspects of the supply chain that they will provide unique perspective and insight to the Alliance and its members.”

Kenco is committed to partnering with forward-thinking organizations, partners and customers to drive innovation in the supply chain. To learn more about Kenco and its Innovation Lab, visit: https://www.kencogroup.com/kenco-innovation-lab/.

About Blockchain in Transport Alliance
Founded in August 2017, the Blockchain in Transport Alliance (BiTA) is a forum for promotion, education, and encouragement to develop and adopt blockchain applications in the trucking, transportation, and logistics industry. BiTA’s goal is for members to participate, discuss, create, and adopt industry standard uses of blockchain applications and to provide clarity and direction for the development of blockchain technology in the trucking industry in a manner that will create efficiency, transparency, and foster trust. BiTA standards are intended to create a common framework to help organizations develop and adopt blockchain technology. For more information, visit www.bita.studio.
