PITTSBURGH--()--The Dynamics Inc. Wallet Card™ -- the world’s first connected, secure payment card, was able to cross the chasm from being a payments device to a critically acclaimed consumer device at the world’s largest consumer technology show – the 2018 International Consumer Electronics Show.

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) recognized the Wallet Card and the Wallet Card Consortium members with four CES Innovation awards including the Best of Innovation Award for Security Technologies. It was an Innovation Award Honoree for Computers, Embedded Technologies, and Technologies for a Better World. This marks the first time in history a payments consortium, payments network, or bank was awarded the consumer electronics industry’s most prestigious award. Wallet Card consortium members including Dynamics Inc., Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Sprint (majority owned by SoftBank), Emirates NBD, CIBC, IndusInd Bank, and Sumitomo Mitsui Card were all presented with copies of the Best of Innovation Awards by CES at a private event.

In addition to the awards from CTA, the Wallet Card received numerous Best of Show awards and recognitions including:

  • Clark Howard – Top Tech of CES: “The true genius of it is that the card can store multiple accounts — effortlessly toggling between a debit, credit or reward card account on its screen — and features an online data connection that allows banks to instantly change your credit card numbers, making it pretty useless if it falls into the wrong hands.”
  • VentureBeat – The Best of CES: “Dynamics wants to bring the credit card and debit card into the 21st century.”

Consumer interest in Wallet Card™ spurred more than 200 articles and reached more than 400 million people. Social media was equally as impressive with more than 100 million people learning of the product on Twitter, YouTube and Instagram. It should be noted that these numbers are conservative as data was not collected for all languages and payments-enabled countries.

“It is very rare for a payments technology to be embraced as a consumer product in its own right,” said Jeffrey Mullen, CEO of Dynamics Inc. “Yet, that is exactly what Wallet Card has done. At the world’s largest consumer technology event with more than 200,000 people and 3,900 companies presenting 40,000 new products, the consumer interest for Wallet Card was extraordinary. This is a clear indicator that Wallet Card will create the acquisition, activation, lift, and retention potential of a best-in-class payment card.”
