STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc., a leading provider of Enterprise Imaging and medical informatics solutions, today announced it achieved a business milestone as the Enterprise Imaging partner of choice for several healthcare providers across the nation. Specifically, Fujifilm has secured contracts with seven healthcare systems including two of the largest healthcare networks in the mid-Atlantic region, Hackensack Meridian Health and West Virginia University Health System, for installations of various products from its comprehensive Synapse Enterprise Imaging portfolio including Synapse 5 PACS, Synapse VNA, Synapse Mobility Enterprise Viewer, Synapse Cardiovascular and Synapse Cloud Services.
“Fujifilm is excited that all of these organizations have chosen Synapse 5 as their new radiology PACS. The speed of server side technology regardless of dataset size, and the simplicity and positive resource impact of a zero viewer to a large health system is really driving this new activity,” said Bill Lacy, vice president of medical informatics at FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. “The bigger picture shows that providers now recognize they need a long-term enterprise imaging strategy. It might start with a PACS replacement or a specialty imaging area need, but customers know that Fujifilm has the technology, expertise and experience to help design, deploy, and support their long term Enterprise Imaging (EI) strategy, which was a likely key factor as to why so many of these agreements included VNA and multiple Fujifilm informatics products.”
Fujifilm offers the most comprehensive enterprise imaging solution available today – covering all areas of enterprise imaging with a portfolio of best-in-class technologies that extend far beyond the traditional radiology and cardiology imaging areas. Through its acquisition of TeraMedica, Fujifilm’s VNA provides a unique organizational content management layer that provides the perfect core to any EI strategy, allowing the healthcare system to begin to eliminate imaging silos and gain the cost benefit of a centralized system, while also pursuing the new standard of on demand access to a complete patient imaging record.
“Clearly customers are realizing we are a unique partner for enterprise imaging, with our ability to offer TeraMedica VNA technology coupled with Fujifilm’s image visualization technology,” said Greg Strowig, Vice President, TeraMedica Division of FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. “As our new contract activity continues to gain momentum, it is clear that providers recognize the inherent value in the combined forces of TeraMedica and Fujifilm.”
