CONCORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Welch's, the world's leading marketer of Concord and Niagara grape-based products, has appointed Ray Gosselin as Vice President, Supply Chain. Most recently, as Vice President of Supply Chain for Beech-Nut Nutrition Company, Gosselin supported the company’s transformation by rapidly building a high performance, growth-oriented supply chain organization. His new role marks his return to Welch’s, where he served in supply chain and IT leadership roles for 15 years before his stint at Beech-Nut.
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to come back home to Welch’s,” says Gosselin. “It’s always been a renowned, trusted brand, and now the company is taking its grape expertise to new consumers and categories through new ventures and alliances. I’m looking forward to working with the team in a new role and collaborating on efficiencies and partnerships to energize our culture and growth.”
Headquartered in Concord, Massachusetts, Welch’s has been delivering the Concord grape’s health benefits to consumers for more than 140 years. Welch’s 100% Grape Juice is made with Concord grapes, grown in North America by 1,000 family farmers, that are picked at their peak and pressed into juice within eight hours of harvesting. Years of research suggest that, thanks to that distinctive grape, Welch’s 100% Grape Juice helps support a healthy heart.
“Ray is a well-respected leader,” says Brad Irwin, Welch’s president and CEO. “We’re fortunate to have him back and to benefit from his latest experience launching innovative products and driving sustained productivity.”
At Beech-Nut, Gosselin delivered 10% improvement in cost of goods, while building a strong future productivity pipeline. He enabled rapid growth by supporting the launch of more than 100 new SKUs. In his most recent Welch’s role as Director of Operations Planning, Strategy and Innovation, Gosselin led value chain transformation, including efficiency, manufacturing and distribution initiatives worth $35 million in savings.
