Data Strategy and boice.net Complete Merger Agreement

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.--()--Data Strategy and boice.net today announced the finalization of plans to merge, creating one of the Midwest’s largest datacenter consulting organizations.

The acquisition by Data Strategy will expand the combined organization's footprint across the Ohio Valley, giving customers greater expertise and engineering breadth for all datacenter solutions: Cloud Strategy, Mobility, Security, Cost Transparency, Collaboration, and Infrastructure.

The new organization will offer advanced technology consulting services in six offices within four states: Troy, Mich., Indianapolis, Louisville, Lexington, Ky., Cincinnati, and headquarters in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Professional services will continue to focus on datacenter infrastructure assessment, design, and implementation. Managed Services will be significantly broadened through a 24x7x365 Network Operations Center, along with offerings in Storage, VDI, Disaster & Recovery, and Managed Security. Together, the organization's 200 employees – half of which are engineering – will sharpen its vertical focus in government, education, financial, health care, manufacturing, and retail.

“The strength of our partnership will be an enhanced customer experience through solution integration and support,” said Dana Jacks, President of Data Strategy. “The due diligence process only confirmed that our two organizations, with similar customer-centric cultures, provide a perfect complement to one another. We see great synergy to drive service breadth and market expansion.”

Each organization will benefit greatly from the other’s advanced specialization with key OEM vendors: Data Strategy is a Premier partner of VMware and a Gold partner with EMC. Boice.net is a Gold partner with Cisco. Combined, the organization offers scores of advanced architecture certifications across a dispersed geography.

“We see multiple benefits from merging with Data Strategy, especially with additional skillsets in operations, technology, and professional services,” said Bill Hall, CEO of boice.net. “The greater level of bench strength will deepen our ability to solve complicated IT projects and address shifts in a customer’s business direction.

The Data Strategy and boice.net leadership will integrate over the next 12 months. Staff at both organizations should expect to see opportunities for growth as cross-functional teams develop and service offerings are expanded. Integration will be focused specifically on leveraging attributes of Data Strategy and boice.net that strengthen the capabilities of the other partner organization in its local markets. Geographical expansion will focus on the Cincinnati and Lexington markets, and the organizations expect to be in hiring mode across all offices as to meet customer demand from new offerings.
