SEATTLE--()--It’s a holiday tradition for many families to grab some hot cocoa, turn on holiday tunes and drive around neighborhoods to look at lights. To help families figure out where to go, today Redfin (www.redfin.com), the next-generation real estate brokerage, released a list of the top 25 cities to see holiday lights in the U.S., and the top five neighborhoods within each city. The report also names the top five neighborhoods to see holiday lights in the nation, which are:

1. Brooklyn, NY: Dyker Heights

2. McAdenville, NC: “Christmas Town”

3. Arlington, TX: Interlochen

4. Baltimore, MD: 34th Street

5. Cleveland, OH: Strongsville

The list is based on input from Redfin real estate agents, who frequently drive through neighborhoods to meet clients for home tours and open houses, often spotting holiday light displays along the way. Each of the neighborhoods on the list have residents that go all out with thousands of lights, inflatable characters, figurines, appearances from Santa and more, rivaling Clark Griswold from “Christmas Vacation.”

This is the fourth year Redfin has compiled the list, and there are a few changes from last year. Strongsville, which is outside of Cleveland, Ohio, came in at #5 on the list, replacing Peacock Lane in Portland, Oregon. Strongsville is home to the Crown Point Parkway Festival of Lights, a walkable and drivable display of moving decorations and lights that includes trains, lighted walking paths and a merry-go-round. The majority of homeowners along the cul de sac decorate their homes, with the home at 14395 Crown Point Pkwy as a centerpiece. It’s all part of an effort to raise money for families in need.

Last year, Redfin compiled a list of neighborhoods for 34 cities where the brokerage had agents. Now that Redfin has expanded to serve 81 cities across the nation, the brokerage chose the top 25 cities with the best displays.
