NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alliant Insurance Services, the nation’s largest specialty insurance brokerage firm, has named Ilene Anders as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The company’s prior Chief Information Officer (CIO) will employ her diverse background in financial services and technology to lead Alliant’s finance team during a period of rapid growth and expansion.
“A proven innovator with an extensive financial background, Ilene understands our business, culture, clients, and, most importantly, our direction as a company,” said Tom Corbett, Chairman and CEO of Alliant. “I am confident she is the ideal CFO to help us continue building the best insurance brokerage in the world.”
Anders brings a multidisciplinary approach to the position well-suited for an industry where the worlds of finance and technology continue to coalesce.
Anders most recently led Alliant’s technology team as CIO, where she spearheaded the development and implementation of client-facing technology solutions. She also oversaw daily operations and data security for the organization while working to improve and strengthen its internal technology infrastructure. Under Anders’ watch, Alliant was named to the prestigious InformationWeek Elite 100 list recognizing America’s top business technology innovators on the strength of its client portals and mobile technologies. Anders will retain her position as CIO on an interim basis until a permanent successor is named.
Previously, Anders had served as Alliant’s Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis following prior positions in investment banking and financial consulting. She has a combined two decades of experience in the financial sector.
Anders takes the reins of CFO from Greg Zimmer, who has had dual responsibilities as both President and CFO for many years. This move will now enable Zimmer to focus even more attention on the overall leadership and strategic growth initiatives of the company in his role as President of Alliant.
“With Alliant’s continued growth comes the opportunity to expand and refocus our management team to ensure optimum long-term success,” said Corbett. “Our company’s remarkable and deliberate growth has created an opportunity to transition the role of CFO and allow Greg to focus solely on his duties as President, which have expanded considerably.”
This move comes amid an active expansion campaign for Alliant that has seen the company complete several acquisitions and other significant strategic initiatives over the past two years. Alliant is currently the nation’s 12th-largest insurance brokerage with more than 70 offices throughout the United States.
Anders holds a master’s degree in business from San Diego State University and a bachelor’s degree in business from Boston University.
