BURLINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Coravin Inc., manufacturer of the Coravin™ Wine Access System, has been named a Finalist in the Startup of the Year for Consumer Products category in the 2015 American Business Awards, and will ultimately be a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Stevie® Award winner in the program.
This year, more than 3,300 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Startup of the Year, Executive of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Live Event of the Year, and Human Resources Department of the Year, among others. Coravin, Inc. rose to the top as a finalist in the Startup of the Year category for Consumer Products.
Launched in July 2013, the Coravin System pours wine while leaving the cork in place, safeguarding the wine from oxidation and allowing consumers to enjoy wine by the glass without opening the bottle. Since its launch, Coravin has sold more than 80,000 systems, changing the way wine is enjoyed, served and sold around the world.
“When the Coravin System launched, my goal was to transform the way people enjoy wine, both in their own homes and in restaurants. After nearly two years, I believe we can now say that we have made significant strides in achieving this goal, and I owe our continued success to the great team at Coravin,” said Coravin founder and inventor, Greg Lambrecht. “I’m honored that Coravin has been recognized as startup of the year by the American Business Awards.”
Finalists were chosen by scores of business professionals nationwide during first-round judging in April and May. Members of several specialized judging committees will determine Stevie Award placements from among the Finalists during final judging, to take place later this month.
“So many fascinating and inspiring stories of success were submitted to the ABAs this year,” said Stevie Awards president and founder Michael Gallagher. “We congratulate Coravin, and all of our 2015 Finalists on their achievements.”
