The Bersin by Deloitte study, conducted by Vice President, HCM Technology Research Katherine Jones, Ph.D., surveyed 25 providers of integrated talent management systems, HRIS solutions and other software applications, rating them on their ability to support 18 key onboarding features. Companies could be rated with no support, future plans to support, partial support, or full support of the features as indicated by a completely filled-in circle.
The study also emphasized the importance of onboarding in today’s organizations, stating that 22 percent of staff turnover occurs within the first 45 days of employment. This can prove to be catastrophic for an HR department and an organization as the study also stated that the estimated cost of losing an employee in the first year is at least three times that of the employee’s salary.
