FORT BENNING, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The U.S. Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM) has recognized Tiya Support Services, LLC (Tiya) as the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) Support Contractor of the Year. Tiya was chosen out of thousands of contractors who provide support to the U.S. Army around the world. Owned by The Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana, Tiya is a full service facilities operations and maintenance company.
This prestigious award recognizes Tiya’s exceptional performance and outstanding customer service as the prime contractor for the Fort Benning Base Operations Support Services contract. Fort Benning Garrison Commander, Colonel Michail Huerter, presented the award to Tiya’s Project Manager, Mike Resty, at a ceremony on September 25, 2014. Colonel Huerter stated, "It is truly an honor and a privilege to be here today and be a part of this award, recognizing all of your efforts. All of your efforts go toward making this installation [Fort Benning] one of the best installations in the world."
In his remarks following receipt of the award, Mr. Resty stated, “This award is reflective of our team’s hard work and dedication toward supporting the Fort Benning Garrison and DPW’s mission of caring for Soldiers and their families. There is no higher honor than providing service to the young men and women who train and deploy to defend our Nation’s interests around the world.”
Since 2010, Tiya’s contract has supported more than 120,000 active-duty military, family members, reserve soldiers, retirees and civilian employees at Fort Benning and covers approximately 185,000 acres of ranges, courses, fields and roads; over 20 million square feet of buildings; over 400,000 square feet of structures; and almost 1 million square feet of surfaced area. Over the term of the contract, despite dramatic increases in the number of personnel, buildings and total square footage of space, Tiya has continually maintained a high standard of excellence.
