IRVING, Texas--()--NGP Energy Capital Management (“NGP”), one of the leading private equity investors in the natural resources industry, announced today that Ambassador Paul D. Formed in 2006, the Strategic Advisory Council brings together leaders in the fields of natural resources, international politics and economics and serves as a unique resource to NGP.

Ambassador Wolfowitz is a visiting scholar with the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research (AEI) where his work focuses on geopolitics, particularly of East and South Asia and the Middle East/Persian Gulf, and entrepreneurship and development issues, particularly in Africa. Ambassador Wolfowitz joined AEI after spending more than three decades in public service and higher education. Since 2008 he has also served as Chairman, U.S.-Taiwan Business Council.

In 1986, Mr. Wolfowitz was appointed Ambassador to Indonesia and served until 1989. As Ambassador, Mr. Wolfowitz became known for his advocacy of reform and political openness, as well as for his interest in development issues, which dates back to his doctoral dissertation on water desalination in the Middle East.

As a leader in higher education, Ambassador Wolfowitz served as Dean and Professor of International Relations at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies of The Johns Hopkins University from 1994 to 2001. Earlier he taught political science at Yale University.
