FXI and Exent Enable GameTanium™ on Cotton Candy for Android Gaming on TV

Mobile World Congress 2012

TRONDHEIM, Norway & BARCELONA, Spain--()--FXI Technologies, and Exent, the leading global provider of mobile, TV and PC Games on Demand, today announced a technology partnership that will pre-install Exent’s GameTanium™ service on the Cotton Candy™ any screen computing platform. Demonstrated at the Innovation Norway Booth (Hall 2.0-2A67) and Exent (Hall 6, C50) booths this week at the Mobile World Congress tradeshow, users of the Cotton Candy device will enjoy access to unlimited play of the most popular, full-version Android games delivered to their living rooms through the GameTanium service.

“GameTanium has already optimized dozens of hit Android mobile games to ensure an exceptional game play experience on larger screens,” said Borgar Ljosland, founder and CEO of FXI. “And with Cotton Candy, GameTanium titles can be played on a range of TV displays.”

Through the partnership, Exent will also offer users of FXI’s Cotton Candy the ability to enjoy the GameTanium experience while using their smartphone or tablet device as a game controller. The service combines all the benefits of smartphone gaming interfaces - including touch, drag and accelerometer functionality - with GameTanium’s cutting edge technology platform and sophisticated content programming to deliver the best gaming experience on TV.

Demonstrated first in November 2011, Cotton Candy is a complete any screen computer platform that will allow users a single, secure point of access to all personal cloud services and apps through their favorite operating system, while delivering a consistent experience on any screen through its USB and HDMI connections. By partnering with Exent, Cotton Candy will allow the Android OS and GameTanium service to be extended to TVs.

“With GameTanium installed on Cotton Candy, consumers have access to a very powerful, and highly portable platform to enable an exceptional gaming experience on TV,” said Iris Getz, VP Corporate Development for Exent. “Through this partnership with FXI, we are continuing to extend our vision of anytime, anywhere game play by giving consumers the flexibility to enjoy premium Android mobile games in the living room.”

In addition to the consumer benefits of the collaboration, the FXI and Exent partnership will enable mobile broadband service providers, OEM's and retailers to extend the reach of their branded content to new screens. The companies intend to make the GameTanium pre-installed service available at the time of the retail launch of Cotton Candy.

Today, development units of the Cotton Candy any screen computer can be pre-ordered at www.cstick.com.
