SAN FRANCISCO--()--ROBLOX, the #2 ranked site on the Internet for kids, announced today it was pleased to work with Make-A-Wish Foundation’s Greater Bay Area and Michigan Chapters to grant the wish of 12-year-old Chase. Chase, who has been undergoing chemotherapy treatments and surgical procedures for the past year, travelled from Michigan to see his wish come true. Chase says, “I have been through some rough patches, but when I play ROBLOX I get to be part of the normal world. I can hang out with my friends online and can still play and build just like everyone else.”

“We are honored that Chase chose a visit to ROBLOX for his wish. There are few things more gratifying than receiving a request to make a wish come true. As always, we are in awe of the work that Make-A-Wish and their amazing organization does and will always welcome the opportunity to be a part of its efforts,” said Dave Baszucki, CEO and Founder of ROBLOX Corporation.

Chase was diagnosed in early 2010 with Ewing’s Sarcoma, which is a malignant (cancerous) bone tumor that affects children. As a result of his medical condition, Chase underwent a series of treatments, including surgery, chemotherapy and medications. During his long hospital visits, Chase played ROBLOX and developed an interest and passion for technology and, as a result, hopes to one day pursue a career as a game developer or programmer. Currently, Chase is doing much better, his medical condition has improved and he no longer has to undergo chemotherapy or other medical treatments.

When his parents were introduced to Make-A-Wish by a nurse at the hospital, Chase jumped at the opportunity to visit ROBLOX and meet some of his favorite in-game characters. His ROBLOX visit included a pizza party lunch with "famous" ROBLOX staff members, building and scripting tips for his virtual worlds, a session to design a virtual hat with a ROBLOX employee, a Domino Crown (virtual hat), and a ROBLOX t-shirt.

His parents are happy to support his gaming hobby. Like other ROBLOX parents, they see the value in their children building, creating, becoming entrepreneurs, and even learning scripting, which is a skill they could use later in life as a developer. “It’s a clean, non-violent site that fosters creativity,” says Chase’s dad.
