HSBC Appoints Monica Duwe as Head of Global Banking for Chile

NEW YORK--()--HSBC’s Global Banking and Markets business today announced the appointment of Monica Duwe as a Managing Director and Head of Global Banking, Chile. In this new role, Duwe will be responsible for providing major companies and institutions based in Chile or those interested in expanding to Chile advice and the full range of Global Banking and Markets products and services including: M&A advisory, equity and debt capital markets, leverage and acquisition financing, and project and export finance. She will be based in Santiago, Chile and will report to Gerardo Mato, CEO, Global Banking for the Americas, and locally to Gustavo Costa, HSBC CEO for Chile. Duwe joins from BNP Paribas.

Monica brings extensive local, international investment banking and capital markets knowledge. She is well respected by senior company executives as well as peers,” said Gerardo Mato. “She will work with our team of bankers to further leverage HSBC’s capabilities both in country and throughout the region.”

Duwe joins HSBC after seven years at BNP Paribas where most recently she served as the Chile country manager and was responsible for client coverage and origination for Chile and Bolivia. She brings more than 23 years of global banking experience which includes 17 years at Dresdner Bank with assignments in New York, Germany and Chile.

HSBC’s Global Banking unit is one of five main businesses within HSBC's Global Banking and Markets division. It serves the needs of major corporate and institutional clients around the world. Products delivered by the Global Banking unit include: advisory, credit and lending, equity capital markets, export and project finance, and strategic financing advisory.
