Macquarie Securities Strengthens US Sales and Trading Effort with Senior Hires

NEW YORK--()--Macquarie Securities, the institutional equities arm of Macquarie Group (“Macquarie”) (ASX: MQG; ADR: MQBKY), today announced the addition of four senior hires to its sales and trading team in New York. Macquarie also announced the relocation of Anthony Panaretto, Global Head of Institutional Sales from Sydney, and Damian Hoult, Global Head of Execution Services from Hong Kong.

Sales

  • Michael D’Arcangelo joins as a Managing Director, Equity Sales. Mr D’Arcangelo brings more than 25 years experience in institutional equities. Previously, he was a Managing Director of Institutional Equity Sales dedicated to hedge funds at Barclays Capital. Prior to this, Mr D’Arcangelo was at Lehman where he chaired the Investment Policy Committee and led the Global Project Management team, and spent six years at Merrill Lynch where he focused on small/mid cap specialty sales.
  • Robert V. Moderelli will join as a Managing Director, Equity Sales. He was most recently at Knight Capital, where he was a Managing Director, Institutional Sales. Mr Moderelli began his career at Cowen & Co in 1993, moving to Bear Stearns in 1997 where he ultimately became Head of Northeastern Institutional Equity Sales. He has more than 18 years experience in equities, predominantly focused on coverage of New York, mid-Atlantic hedge funds and Global Multi Strategy funds.

Sales Trading

  • Allen Jordan joins as a Senior Sales Trader. He was most recently at Rochdale Securities and has a long-standing network of senior level relationships throughout the industry. With 15 years experience in equity sales trading, he will be primarily focused on Global Multi Strategy funds.
  • Brad Hoenig joins as a Senior Sales Trader. He was most recently at RBC, where he was responsible for hedge fund sales trading and began his career at Lehman Brothers in 1997. At Macquarie, he will continue to focus on New York, Connecticut and San Francisco-based hedge funds.
