Adam Carolla Uses Wizzard’s LibsynPro To Set Guinness World Record

PITTSBURGH--()--Wizzard Media (NYSE Amex: WZE), congratulates Adam Carolla for officially setting the world record for the most downloaded podcast according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Carolla achieved this record while hosting his podcast on Wizzard Media’s LibsynPro – the hosting solution for professional podcasters.

Carolla, a veteran radio personality, spent 11 years as co-host with Dr. Drew on Loveline and 3 years hosting his own morning show before starting his podcast in February, 2009. The Adam Carolla Show, which is part of the ACE Network, has been a huge hit since it first launched and has now taken away the world record from Ricky Gervais.

According to Guinnessworldrecords.com:

“Guinness World Records® can confirm that 'The Adam Carolla Show' has officially broken the record for the 'Most Downloaded Podcast'… This breaks the previous record held by 'The Ricky Gervais Show,' set in February 2006.”

“Adam Corolla is now officially the biggest name in podcasting and we are very pleased to have him using our podcast publishing platform,” says Chris Spencer, CEO Wizzard Media. “We have been extremely impressed by the number of downloads The Adam Carolla Show has been able to generate and we completely support the fact that Guinness World Records has officially recognized Adam Carolla’s podcast as the new world record holder.”

“We are very excited to have set the world record for podcasting,” said Adam Carolla, ACE Broadcasting. “We really appreciate all the support from the LibsynPro team in making sure our podcasts continued to download regardless of the demand our listeners put on their system.”

About ACE Network:

In February 2009, Adam Carolla and partner & Executive Producer Donny Misraje launched ACE Broadcasting with its first show The Adam Carolla Podcast. From there it has quickly expanded to include six other weekly podcasts with many new shows in development.

Started from his home office, The Adam Carolla Show now reaches more than 5 million downloads a month. In December, it reached critical acclaim when iTunes bestowed the crew with the Rewind Award For Best Podcast Of 2009 (Audio). Past guests have included: Francis Ford Coppola, Alec Baldwin, Danny DeVito, Matt Dillon, Laurence Fishburne, Jimmy Kimmel, Jay Leno, Joel McHale, Brad Garrett, David Cross, Ed Begley Jr., George Takai, Andy Dick, Patton Oswalt, Aisha Tyler, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Greg Fitzsimmons and many more.

With over 60 million downloads to date, the podcast pioneer remains a constant in the Top 10 of iTunes’ Podcasts chart. ACS holds the record for Most Daily Downloaded online show, with one episode being downloaded 550,000 times. Adam’s accomplishments have been featured in Entertainment Weekly’s Must List, Esquire, Fast Company, Entrepreneur and on ABC News.

ACE broadcasting monopolizes iTunes’ podcast page with a diverse line up of shows ranging from parenting to sports. The NY Times raved about Carolla’s “Carcast,” for automobile lovers like himself. “The Parent Experiment” is hosted by wife, Lynette Carolla, and was #1 on iTunes for six weeks running and is still the #1 parenting podcast. There is also “The Film Vault” (#1 in Comedy and Overall), “Daves Of Thunder” with Dave Dameshek, and a sports podcast hosted by NBA champ John Salley, “Spider & The Henchman.”

“The idea that people want to be under our umbrella is flattering, and it is why we did it for free and used our own money. It would be nice to make your own decisions, ones you have to live and die with,” Adam said in a March 2010 feature of Fast Company Magazine.
