WASHINGTON--()--Amy Friend, the former Chief Counsel of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, has been named a Managing Director of Promontory Financial Group, the premier global financial services consulting firm.

Ms. Friend, who joins the firm today, will work with Promontory clients on a wide range of issues, including risk management, governance, and the regulatory implementation of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010, which, at 2,300 pages, is one of the most complex and wide-ranging overhauls of the financial regulatory framework in decades.

“Amy is an exceptionally well rounded financial services expert, whose energy and insights have helped her excel in senior staff positions in the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency,” said Eugene A. Ludwig, Chief Executive Officer of Promontory. “I am certain she will be highly effective in meeting our clients’ needs for smart and practical guidance and advice.”

Ms. Friend joins a unique team of professionals, including former senior financial services regulators and executives, who provide strategic advice and assistance to many of the world’s leading financial companies, particularly in the areas of risk management, controls, compliance, regulatory advice, governance, and capital and liquidity.
