SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Magwel N.V. announces that Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS), a leading global supplier of high performance power and mobile products, has selected Magwel’s Power Transistor Modeling (PTM) tool for use in its design and verification of high current power devices.
“Fairchild is focused on providing leading-edge power management components that enable energy efficiency in electronic devices,” said Terry Johnson, Director, Automation Development. “The PTM tool from Magwel met all of our requirements including accuracy, capacity, ability to handle complex device architectures, ease-of-use and price. This tool enables our designers to optimize our products for performance, area and reliability.”
Magwel offers a family of products for analog and RF extraction and simulation. In addition to PTM, Magwel’s Substrate Noise Analysis (SNA) tool helps to analyze and reduce the majority and minority carriers injected into the substrate when a large power device turns on and off.
“We are excited about the growth of our Power Transistor Modeling product line,” said Dündar Dumlugöl, CEO of Magwel. “Our 3D extraction and simulation products are giving designers the advanced capabilities they need to compete in today’s marketplace.”
Magwel is the leader in 3D co-simulation and extraction EDA solutions for ICs. Its unique, patented technology co-simulates semiconductor devices with metal interconnect with 3D field-solver accuracy. Leading semiconductor vendors use Magwel tools to extract Rdson and current densities in power devices and ESD structures, characterize and extract active and passive RF devices and critical interconnect. Magwel is privately held and is headquartered in Leuven, Belgium. Further information on Magwel can be found at www.magwel.com
