ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--America II Electronics, Inc., one of the world’s largest independent distributors of semiconductors and passive components, today announced its certification to the Counterfeit Components Avoidance Procedures (CCAP). The CCAP-101 Certified ProgramTM CR was developed by the Components Technology Institute, Inc. (CTI) to define mandatory practices for use by independent distributors to detect and avoid the circulation of counterfeit components.
Counterfeit electronic components are causing major problems in the industry and America II Electronics is among the first to become CCAP-101 Certified. “The CCAP-101 Certified Program was created to define necessary practices to verify the authenticity of components,” said Leon Hamiter, one of the world’s leading experts in counterfeit component detection and President of CTI.
“Through this certification, America II continues to be a leader in its efforts to provide a secure supply chain,” said Director of Quality, Chad Spikes. “In addition to the fact that we offer an in-house test facility equipped with state of the art equipment and experienced industry leaders, our new CCAP-101 Certification is yet another way we’ve proven that we strive for excellence in quality assurance and will accept nothing less.”
With over 3 billion parts in stock and available to sell at their St. Petersburg facility, America II Electronics has one of the largest inventories in the industry. Their new CCAP-101 Certification, when specified by customers, adds to their already stringent efforts around quality assurance and provides evidence that their parts are authentic.
"America II is determined to provide the best service and highest quality in the industry,” added Spikes. “We’re proud to be one of the first in our industry to earn this certification.”
