DTN Acquires WeatherBank Incorporateds Weather Forecasting Customers

Energy, transportation, public safety and agriculture customers will have access to DTN experts, improved display systems and forecasting capabilities

MINNEAPOLIS--()--DTN, the world leader in weather forecasting, display and decision support technology, today announced the acquisition of the majority of WeatherBanks weather forecasting business. DTN will integrate WeatherBanks energy, transportation, public safety and agriculture weather forecasting customers into its weather business, DTN/Meteorlogix. WeatherBank will retain its retail, long-range forecasting customers. Additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

WeatherBank customers will have access to DTNs suite of MxVision WeatherSentry® products which offer localized, real-time forecast information, lightning details, radar specifics and patented weather-monitoring alerting capabilities via PCs, cell phones and PDAs. In addition, DTNs staff of highly trained meteorologists and customer service representatives is accessible to customers by phone, Web or e-mail 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
