DTN will integrate WeatherBank’s energy, transportation, public safety and agriculture weather forecasting customers into its weather business, DTN/Meteorlogix. WeatherBank will retain its retail, long-range forecasting customers. Additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
WeatherBank customers will have access to DTN’s suite of MxVision WeatherSentry® products which offer localized, real-time forecast information, lightning details, radar specifics and patented weather-monitoring alerting capabilities via PCs, cell phones and PDAs. In addition, DTN’s staff of highly trained meteorologists and customer service representatives is accessible to customers by phone, Web or e-mail 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
