Aspyr Media Inc. Announces the Acclaimed Documentary Film `The Journey' on DVD and VHS

AUSTIN, Texas--()--Sept. 10, 2003--Aspyr Media Inc. announced today the acclaimed documentary "The Journey" on DVD and VHS. Since the film began showing, it has won accolades from various film festivals including the "Audience Award" at the 2001 Atlanta Film and Video Festival and the "Most Memorable Film Award" at the 2003 South by Southwest Film Festival held annually in Austin, Texas.

"The Journey" began in 1993 when Eric Saperston and his dog set out from San Diego in a 1971 VW bus with vague plans to follow the Grateful Dead and work a ski season in Aspen while trying to figure out what he wanted to do with his life. When he arrived in Atlanta he began making phone calls to various powerful people. He wanted to find the answers to life's biggest questions -- Why am I here? How can I find happiness? What is success?

Dave Murcott, Paige O'Brien and Kathleen Kelly joined Saperston and they continued their journey from Atlanta to Seattle. Spending more than three years on the road, they covered thousands of miles and gathered words of wisdom from famous and influential people such as former Texas Governor Ann Richards, actors Billy Crystal and Henry Winkler and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" author Ken Kesey.

As an established Macintosh video game publisher, Aspyr Media Inc. recently entered the PC and Game Boy Advance markets and continues to expand into the DVD market. Today's launch of "The Journey" and two other documentary films, Mike Woolf's "Growin' a Beard" and Richard Linklater's "Live From Shiva's Dance Floor," marks Aspyr's first of many releases into the DVD and home entertainment market.

"We couldn't be more excited to be working with a fellow group of dreamers who work hard and like to have fun," said Patrick Jones, executive producer of Journey Productions Inc. about Aspyr Media.

In addition to the 91-minute documentary film, "The Journey" DVD includes the original short film, audio commentary tracks from filmmakers Eric Saperston, Kathleen Kelly and Patrick Jones, outtakes that did not make the film and the 12 episodes of the "Reflections from the Road" series that first appeared on vw.com.
