LP Building Solutions Named APA’s Safest Company for Fourth Consecutive Year
LP earns its 16th Safest Company award in the program’s 18-year history, underscoring its sustained leadership in workplace safety
NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--LP Building Solutions (LP), a leading manufacturer of high-performance building products, has been named the 2025 Safest Company in its category by APA – The Engineered Wood Association, marking LP’s fourth consecutive win and 16th overall in the award’s 18-year history.
“Safety is one of the clearest measures of how well a manufacturing company operates,” said LP CEO Jason Ringblom.

LP recorded a total incident rate (TIR) of 0.68 and a weighted incident rate (WIR) of 3.04 for its manufacturing facilities in 2025. Its WIR was three times lower than that of the next closest company in the category, matching the margin by which LP led the category in 2024.
“Safety is one of the clearest measures of how well a manufacturing company operates,” said LP CEO Jason Ringblom. “To earn this recognition four years in a row reflects the consistency and discipline of our teams across the company. We’re proud of that record, but our focus remains on finding ways to make our facilities and our work safer every day.”
LP also earned several facility-level honors in APA’s 2025 Safety Awards. For Division II, LP Swan Valley took first place, and LP Sagola took second place. Swan Valley also received the Safety Improvement Award for 2023-2025. LP Jasper earned a Three-Year Safety Award, and LP’s Swan Valley, Sagola, Jasper, Peace Valley, Newberry, and Houlton facilities were named to APA’s Incident-Free Honor Society.
“This recognition reflects a commitment to safety shared across LP,” said LP Chief Operating Officer Tony Hamill. “Nothing is more important than safety at LP. It’s a foundational value of our company, and our team members are the ones who bring that commitment to life every day. Their focus, care for one another, and commitment to working safely made this recognition possible.”
LP has maintained a TIR below 1.0 for nearly two decades, well below the industry average. Since 2010, the company has earned more than 100 safety awards, recorded 18 one-million-hour milestones without a recordable incident at individual facilities, and achieved prestigious U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration Voluntary Protection Program Star Certification or the state equivalent at three sites.
APA’s Safety Awards recognize companies and individual mills based on TIR and WIR, which account for the frequency and severity of workplace incidents.
