Voxel to Lead Panel on Embracing Artificial Intelligence Without Forcing Adoption at ASSP Safety 2026

"Working Smarter, Not Harder" session brings together safety leaders from across the organizational spectrum to share what real-world AI adoption looks like and how to get it right

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Voxel, the computer vision AI company revolutionizing workplace safety and risk, today announced its senior leader, Brittany DeRafelo, Director of Customer Solutions, was selected to lead a panel session at ASSP Safety 2026, the American Society of Safety Professionals' Annual Professional Development Conference and Exposition, in Anaheim, CA from June 15-17, 2026. The conference is one of the largest gatherings of occupational safety and health professionals in the world, drawing thousands of attendees each year.

The session, "Working Smarter, Not Harder: Embracing AI Without Forcing Adoption," will bring together safety leaders from across the organizational spectrum to share candid experiences navigating AI adoption in industrial environments. The panel will explore what worked, what didn't, and how organizations can build the trust necessary for technology to take hold.

The session (#5061) is scheduled for Monday, June 15, from 4:15–5:15 p.m. PT. DeRafelo will be joined by the following panelists to discuss how organizations are successfully integrating AI-powered safety tools while avoiding the pitfalls of "tech for tech's sake:”

  • Lisa Battino, Vice President of Regulatory Compliance and Safety at United States Cold Storage.
  • Terri Rybacki, Director of Risk and Safety at Macy's.
  • Shane Quinn, North America Safety Director, at MS International, Inc.

"The biggest barrier to AI in safety isn't the technology, it's trust. When teams feel like something is being done to them rather than for them, adoption stalls. This conversation is about changing that dynamic, and giving safety leaders the tools to introduce AI in a way that actually sticks,” said DeRafelo.
