Distinguished Programs Announces Crisis Management Program Under Leadership of Marcus Meredith

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Distinguished Programs (“Distinguished”), a leading national MGA and insurance program manager, has announced a Crisis Management program designed to address the growing and complex exposures tied to Political Violence and Active Assailant events. The program, led by Marcus Meredith, will be available exclusively in the United States. It is currently open for quoting and binding business.

Crisis situations evolve quickly, and organizations need insurance solutions that can keep pace beyond the limits of traditional coverage.

Distinguished is supported by a panel of Lloyds syndicates giving line capacity up to $150 million to bring the new offering to market.

The program provides specialized coverage for Sabotage and Terrorism, Active Assailant and Deadly Weapons incidents, as well as Strikes, Riots and Civil Commotion. It is structured to address gaps often found in traditional U.S. property and casualty policies, which may exclude politically motivated events, limit coverage for mass casualty incidents, or provide insufficient protection for business interruption and crisis response expenses.

The addition of Crisis Management is Distinguished’s first step in a strategic expansion into the London market. Distinguished’s strategy is to partner with top underwriting talent, for which the market is known.

The company continues to build its underwriting capabilities by recruiting experienced teams and empowering them through a “support with autonomy” philosophy, an approach designed to drive strong underwriting performance for carrier partners while delivering competitive solutions for brokers.

“Crisis Management is a natural extension of our specialty portfolio,” said Jason Rotman, president of Distinguished. “It creates strong cross-sell opportunities across programs where we already have established relationships, particularly in real estate and hospitality.”

“It also allows brokers to enhance existing placements with protection that traditional policies may not fully address,” added Rotman. “With Marcus’ leadership and the backing of Lloyds syndicates, we are confident this program delivers meaningful added value to brokers nationwide.”

Marcus brings more than 15 years of MGA experience to the role. Before entering the industry, he served as a captain in the British Army, with deployments across the Middle East and the Americas—experience that informs his understanding of crisis response, threat environments and organizational resilience.

“It is a privilege to introduce this Crisis Management solution with Distinguished,” said Marcus Meredith, president of Distinguished’s Crisis Management program. “Crisis situations evolve quickly, and organizations need insurance solutions that can keep pace beyond the limits of traditional coverage. This program is intentionally structured to bridge that gap with targeted protection and practical response support.”

Marcus added that the program also takes a different approach to pricing. “Many crisis policies are structured around property premiums rather than the risk itself,” he said. “Our program evaluates each risk individually, which can lead to more tailored pricing and may offer cost advantages.”

This addition follows Distinguished’s recent introductions of its Marine Cargo and Transactional Risk programs, underscoring the company’s continued investment in expanding its specialized underwriting capabilities across its portfolio.
