Edison International Honors 30 Students With 2026 Edison Scholars Awards

Each scholar receives $50,000 to pursue a STEM degree — and can apply for a paid summer internship after their first year of college

ROSEMEAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Edison International is recognizing 30 high school seniors as 2026 Edison Scholars. Announced through surprise school visits over the past two weeks, each student will receive a $50,000 scholarship to help pay for college as they pursue careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).

Selected from across Southern California Edison’s service area, the scholars represent a wide range of interests — from engineering and computer science to environmental and health-related disciplines — united by a drive to solve real-world challenges. The scholarship helps reduce financial barriers, so recipients can stay focused on their studies and the impact they want to make in their communities.

“The next generation of leaders is essential to driving innovation and progress, and our 2026 Edison Scholars show the passion and purpose needed to shape our clean energy future,” said Pedro J. Pizarro, president and CEO of Edison International. “We are proud to support their academic journeys, and I look forward to seeing how they use their talents and determination to make a meaningful impact in their communities.”

During the surprise presentations, Edison International and Southern California Edison team members joined school communities to recognize each scholar with a commemorative medal and a scholarship check with family, friends and educators in attendance. In May, the 2026 class — along with past scholars — will be welcomed at a reception at Edison International’s headquarters.

Since 2006, Edison International has awarded more than $22 million in scholarships to 850 students. Alumni of the program have gone on to build careers across STEM, including computer science, civil engineering and environmental science — helping strengthen local communities and powering progress through education.

The Edison Scholars program is fully funded by Edison International shareholders. Learn more and meet the 2026 class on the Edison Scholars spotlight page.
