In its role as UWB Alliance Promoter – the highest tier of membership – SPARK Microsystems will be actively involved in leading the strategic direction of Alliance initiatives. Promoter members help shape regulatory advocacy priorities, engage directly with government and regulatory bodies and provide leadership counsel to the UWB innovators comprising the Alliance’s membership.

Frederic Nabki’s appointment to the UWB Alliance Board of Directors strengthens its commitment to cultivating a thriving global UWB technology ecosystem. He leads SPARK’s technological innovation, with over 20 years of experience in the research and development of RF and MEMS semiconductors. Nabki has published numerous scientific papers and holds multiple patents in microsystems and integrated circuits.

The UWB Alliance is excited to welcome SPARK as a Promoter‑level member and to have the company step immediately into a significant leadership role. As the UWB Alliance advances into new application domains and works to expand global regulatory opportunities for UWB, SPARK’s participation strengthens the organization’s ability to drive meaningful progress for the entire ecosystem.

Tim Harrington, Chairman of the Board for the UWB Alliance stated: “I am very pleased to have Fred and SPARK join our Board of Directors. SPARK brings deep technical insight and a forward‑looking perspective that aligns strongly with our mission. We look forward to incorporating Fred’s guidance and goals into our plans and the execution of the Ultra Wideband Alliance mission.”

“In the physical AI era, mobile wireless devices need a new standard for robust connectivity with high performance at reduced power consumption. UWB technology is key to this transformation,” said Nabki. “From traditional ranging to low-latency, low-power, high-throughput data communications pioneered by SPARK, UWB’s advantages are clear and compelling. We are at an inflection point that will favor differentiated wireless technologies like SPARK LE-UWB. Our close collaboration with the UWB Alliance will amplify its advocacy and accelerate its ramp to commercial ubiquity.”
