Florida Nonprofit Day 2026 Advocates for Policies to Advance the Nonprofit Sector

One-of-a-kind is event open to all Florida nonprofits

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Florida Nonprofit Alliance (FNA), a statewide association of nonprofits focused on research, collaboration and advocacy, is hosting its second annual Florida Nonprofit Day event, in partnership with TECO, on February 10 and 11, 2026 in Tallahassee, Fla. Nonprofit leaders from across the sunshine state are encouraged to attend to network with peers, meet legislators, and advocate for policies that will advance and strengthen the nonprofit sector across the state.

“Nonprofits are economic engines,” stated Sabeen Perwaiz, President of FNA. “In Florida, more than 22,700 nonprofits support 456,000+ jobs, pay $27.5 billion in wages, and generate $116.5 billion in revenue. This equates to seven percent of Florida's workforce, in line with the construction and manufacturing sectors.”

“At Tampa Electric, we promote economic, community and cultural prosperity by investing in programs that develop the workforce, foster community vitality and strengthen underrepresented groups,” said Stephanie Smith, vice president of State and Regional Affairs at Tampa Electric. “Partnering with the Florida Nonprofit Alliance to strengthen the nonprofit sector is a natural extension of our commitment to foster resilient communities.”

Leaders from nonprofit organizations are encouraged to attend Florida Nonprofit Day for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is lobbying state lawmakers. Advantages include:

  • showcasing the size and power of the sector;
  • bringing collective action in emphasizing the importance of policy issues; and
  • building relationships with lawmakers and their staff.

“If your organization is interested in building relationships with elected officials, you want to know more about receiving an appropriation, or you have something to share with elected officials, participation in the Florida Nonprofit Day event is critical,” says Perwaiz. “It’s our one day to collectively represent the power of our sector.”

Attendance at the event also helps organizations with visibility and mission development, along with showing support for the sector and networking.

Registration fee is $100 for FNA members and $200 for non-members. To register and view the agenda, go to https://www.flnonprofits.org/events/florida-nonprofit-day-2026.
