HTC VIVERSE and KIRI Engine Showcase High-Fidelity 3D Scanning for the Open Web

Collaboration cuts the cost of 3D content creation, enabling creators to capture real-world objects with KIRI Engine and instantly publish interactive models to VIVERSE

BERKELEY, Calif. & TAIPEI, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--VIVERSE, the leading 3D content distribution platform, today announced a new collaboration with KIRI Engine, the AI-powered 3D scanning app known for its photogrammetry and 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) technologies. Together, the two companies are demonstrating how creators can scan real-world objects using KIRI Engine and seamlessly publish detailed, interactive models directly into VIVERSE Worlds.

“Creators want fast, accurate tools that let them bring the real world into immersive experiences,” said Andranik Aslanyan, Head of Growth, HTC VIVERSE. “KIRI Engine is one of the most powerful mobile scanning apps available today. Collaborating with KIRI showcases how easy it is to capture an object and immediately publish it to VIVERSE – no game engine or complex tools required – you just need a phone, and a link.”

The collaboration highlights how mobile scanning, cloud processing, and web-based 3D distribution are converging to make 3D content creation more accessible and affordable than ever before. The high processing cost of 3D content creation is being slashed by the ability to leverage apps like the KIRI Engine that enable creators to take advantage of pre-built systems and tools. By combining KIRI Engine’s reconstruction quality with VIVERSE’s open publishing tools, creators can move from capture to a live, shareable experience in minutes – across any device.

From Real-World Capture to Immersive 3D in Minutes

KIRI Engine is recognized as one of the most advanced mobile 3D capture apps available, using AI photogrammetry and 3D Gaussian Splatting to transform everyday photos and videos into high-fidelity 3D models. KIRI Engine enables creators to reconstruct detailed models from photos or videos in OBJ, STL, FBX, GLTF/GLB, USDZ, PLY, and XYZ formats and generates PBR textures and quad meshes. KIRI Engine is available on iOS, Android, and Web with free and pro versions of their app, making professional reconstruction accessible to creators at any level.

With KIRI Engine models now being uploaded directly into VIVERSE Worlds, creators can build interactive scenes, showcases, product galleries, and digital exhibitions using their own real-world scans.

“With VIVERSE, creators can take their scans from personal assets to fully immersive experiences,” said Jacky Wang, Co-Founder of KIRI Innovation. “Our collaboration shows what’s possible when cutting-edge scanning meets a truly open, accessible 3D distribution platform.”

Building a More Open 3D Ecosystem

The partnership reflects VIVERSE’s ongoing commitment to supporting the creator community. In the past year, the platform has introduced universal game engine compatibility, direct publishing pipelines, and new integrations with leading 3D tools – aimed at making the open web the easiest place to build and share 3D content.

The collaboration with KIRI Engine expands the VIVERSE ecosystem by giving creators a fast, intuitive path from 3D capture and scanning to nearly instant immersive deployment.
