“I’m thrilled to have Stuart join our leadership team,” said Andrew Boch, Chief Executive Officer at Mobi. “His experience fortifies the strong travel expertise we’ve already built and deepens our commitment to delivering innovative, high-impact AI solutions for air and hospitality. Stuart’s background in commercial strategy, digital retail, and next-gen distribution aligns perfectly with our mission to transform how travelers discover, shop, and book flights, rooms, and experiences.”

Barwood brings nearly 25 years of senior leadership experience across the travel industry. He has helped launch five airlines and held global roles that accelerated growth, built strategic partnerships, and led commercial transformation. His career includes C-level and senior positions, most recently as Interim Chief Commercial Officer for an aviation start-up and previously as Chief Commercial Officer at Tripstack, as well as leadership roles at FLYR and Forter, and advisory positions with Amadeus, IATA, Sabre, and KPMG. He began his career in revenue management and network development at easyJet, Jet2.com, and Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

“Airline and hospitality brands are facing unprecedented opportunities to tap into AI and modernize their digital retail,” said Barwood. “Mobi’s technology is uniquely positioned to help them unlock new revenue, attract incremental demand, and deliver exceptional traveler experiences, so I’m very excited to be joining the team, especially at this stage of the journey.”

Mobi applies advanced AI technologies to transform how travel companies engage with customers and optimize critical processes, helping them meet changing consumer behaviours and expectations. Core solution areas include:

  • Intent-driven search: Natural-language search that converts traveler intent into destinations, routes, and bookable results.
  • ChatGPT Apps: Custom airline and hotel apps that integrate live data, loyalty profiles, and booking/reservation right within a ChatGPT session.
  • Fully managed MCP: Enterprise-grade Model Context Protocol (MCP) hosting that securely connects travel brands’ systems, data, and workflows to Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • AI-based optimization: Intelligent automation and decision support that helps transportation, travel, and logistics organizations boost productivity, reduce costs, and operate more efficiently with AI.

With Barwood on board, Mobi enters its next chapter with fresh energy, deeper industry expertise, and a strengthened commitment to helping the travel industry unlock the full potential of AI.
