Keysight Introduces Scalable In-Line Flash Programming System for High-Volume Electronics Manufacturing

System scales up to 112 parallel channels to maximize throughput and reduce bottlenecks in high-volume production

SANTA ROSA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS) announced the Keysight A90 Application-Specific Automated Test Suite (ASATS), a high-throughput in-line flash programming solution designed to help electronics manufacturers efficiently manage increasingly large firmware payloads in high-volume production environments.

As firmware and operating systems grow in size, often reaching hundreds of megabytes across automotive, server, and consumer electronics applications — traditional in-circuit testers and budget programming tools often struggle to keep pace. These bottlenecks slow takt times and limit overall throughput.

The A90 ASATS addresses these challenges with a modular, scalable architecture that supports up to 112 parallel programming channels. This design enables manufacturers to flash large data payloads quickly and reliably, maintaining high production efficiency without disrupting downstream processes. The system’s same-height bypass conveyor and side-by-side installation ensure seamless board flow, while full Keysight i1000 FlexiCore fixture compatibility simplifies deployment across existing test environments.

Key features and benefits of the A90 ASATS include:

  • High-speed, parallel flash programming for large firmware payloads, eliminating bottlenecks in high-volume production lines
  • Scalable architecture supporting up to 112 channels for maximum throughput and efficiency
  • Compact, modular design with side-by-side installation, same-height bypass, and full FlexiCore fixture compatibility for optimized line integration

Carol Leh, Vice President, Electronic Industrial Solutions Group Center of Excellence at Keysight, said: “Electronics manufacturers are facing increasing pressure to accelerate product testing, while managing ever-larger firmware payloads. This A90 ASATS delivers the speed, parallelism, and flexibility needed to remove programming bottlenecks and keep high-volume production lines running efficiently.”
