The Mojaloop Foundation launched the Global Partner Program earlier this year to accelerate the development, deployment and adoption of open, interoperable digital payment systems in emerging markets. This initiative brings together organizations across technology, policy, research and financial sectors – including AfricaNenda, Cenfri, FNA, Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF), Modular Open-Source Identity Platform (MOSIP), and the newly added partners – to collaboratively address barriers to financial inclusion.

“We are excited to welcome these leading organizations to our partner ecosystem,” said Paula Hunter, Executive Director of the Mojaloop Foundation. “The addition of these partners will augment and accelerate our work to advance financial inclusion, and the program's recent growth demonstrates the tremendous importance of building and advancing IIPSs globally.”

Under newly signed Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs), the organizations will work with the Foundation to bolster financial inclusion worldwide. The partnership with Finternet will allow the Foundation to stay abreast of emerging trends and markets in the inclusive digital finance space as the next iteration of its infrastructure is developed. IPA’s expertise in analysis of poverty reduction programs will assist Mojaloop implementers in making these programs more effective and inclusive. The partnership with GFTN will expand the Foundation’s reach and align its engagement and support among central banks across Africa and Asia, and Visa and the Foundation will collaborate on joint initiatives focused on knowledge sharing, ecosystem engagement, product training and market development of safer digital payments through enhanced fraud prevention. As part of the partnership, Visa’s Account-to-Account (A2A) Protect solution will be available as an integrated service on the Mojaloop platform. A2A Protect adds a security and risk management layer to safeguard real-time bank account payments.

The Mojaloop Partner Program drives collaboration across key focus areas:

  • Collaborative Development: Co-creation of tools and technologies to enhance payment system interoperability and affordability.
  • Engagement Initiatives: Joint efforts to raise awareness and demand for open-source IIPS and Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) solutions.
  • Thought Leadership: Advancing policies, standards and innovations like ISO 20022 evolution, AI applications in payments, stablecoins and cross-border transactions.
