CSC President and CEO Rod Ward Joins University of Delaware Board of Trustees

WILMINGTON, Del.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CSC is pleased to announce that President and Chief Executive Officer Rod Ward III has been appointed to the University of Delaware Board of Trustees.

Ward, a fourth-generation descendant of one of CSC’s founders, has led the Delaware-headquartered company since 2010 and brings decades of leadership experience across global industries including manufacturing, finance, and corporate governance. Privately held for more than 125 years, CSC delivers solutions that help businesses form, grow, and thrive—navigating complex challenges in compliance, legal, tax, digital transformation, and cyber risk so clients can focus on their strategic goals.

“I’m honored to join the University of Delaware Board of Trustees,” said Ward. “The university’s values of innovation, community, and service closely align with those of CSC. Together, we’re working to strengthen the fabric of Delaware by supporting the success of the university and its students. That means helping cultivate a resilient, agile workforce that will thrive in a rapidly evolving world of business and technology.”

As a trustee, Ward joins a distinguished group of leaders responsible for guiding the university’s strategic direction. The board plays a critical role in shaping academic programs, institutional policies, and long-term planning. Trustees also oversee the hiring and performance of the university president, and the management of financial operations including supporting philanthropic initiatives through fundraising and capital campaigns.

Terri Kelly, Chair of the University of Delaware Board of Trustees, welcomed Ward’s appointment, stating, “Rod Ward’s dedication to Delaware’s economic and educational landscape is truly inspiring. His leadership and insight will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen the university’s mission and impact. We are thrilled to have him join our Board of Trustees.”

Ward is also a member of the Delaware Business Roundtable, and serves on the national board of 50CAN, where he chairs the advisory board of its Delaware chapter. Deeply committed to public education, he previously chaired the Rodel Foundation of Delaware and served as a long-time board member at the East Side Charter School in Wilmington. He also sits on the advisory board of Leadership Delaware, an organization dedicated to developing and mentoring emerging leaders. Alongside former Governor John Carney, Ward cochaired the Delaware Prosperity Partnership, a public-private initiative for economic development, from its founding in 2017 through 2025.
