Affinity Celebrates Growth of Its Certified Wellbeing Coach Program with 30 New Graduates

Coaches will continue to support the wellbeing of Affinity members across New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut

BASKING RIDGE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Affinity Federal Credit Union (“Affinity”) proudly announces the graduation of its 2025 class of Certified Wellbeing Coaches. The program, now in its third year, continues to be a cornerstone of Affinity’s commitment to the financial wellbeing of its members and employees.

The 2025 cohort included 30 graduates representing a variety of departments across the organization, including Retail Branches, Digital Branch, Member Solution Hub, Consumer Lending, and Sales Management & Effectiveness.

Certified Wellbeing Coaches are available by appointment to help members with essential financial skills including budgeting, goal setting, credit, and identity theft. The training was designed based on the most asked questions and needs of Affinity members to provide real-time advice in-person at branches or virtually though the Digital Branch.

The eight-month program ran from March through October. The first seven months were focused on learning about how to provide members with the best possible support in managing their personal finances and overcoming financial challenges, while the final month allowed participants to demonstrate their knowledge by creating and presenting on assigned topics. This approach encouraged collaboration across departments and reinforced the practical application of key wellbeing principles.

To deepen the learning experience, this year’s program introduced a new segment on empathy, designed to help participants connect more meaningfully with both the course content and members. The empathy-focused kickoff session and related role-play exercises helped employees enhance their ability to relate to and support members during the empathy map segment of each session.

Affinity also recognized eight standout participants as MVPs for their exceptional performance and dedication: Enoc Nunez, Eugenia Ricker, Joseph Calabrese, Yeuris Ortiz, Hugo Ramirez, Kenia Arce-Simmons, Rocio Gonzalez, and Rosemond Joseph.

Since the program’s inception, 107 employees representing Retail Branches, Digital Branch, Member Solution Hub, Consumer Lending, Sales Management & Effectiveness, Member Care, and Affinity Mortgage, have successfully graduated between 2023 and 2025. To date, Coaches have scheduled hundreds of meetings with members and actively contributed to the financial wellbeing of Affinity members.

“Each year, our Wellbeing Coach program grows stronger and continues to make a meaningful impact within Affinity,” said Kevin Brauer, President and CEO of Affinity. “We are proud of all of our 2025 graduates for their commitment to helping members and colleagues thrive - financially and personally.”
