Nintendo News: Join Princess Zelda in an Untold Story from Her Kingdom’s Past in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment on Nintendo Switch 2 Today!

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--It’s a tale from so deep in Hyrule’s past that it has become legend: Demon King Ganondorf’s invasion of the kingdom and the brave band of Hyruleans who rose up in defiance. But for Princess Zelda, this ancient tale is about to come to life in the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment game for the Nintendo Switch 2 system.

Check out the story overview trailer here: https://youtu.be/9pbyF3zpSgc.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment puts the heroic Princess Zelda in the middle of the fabled Imprisoning War, which would reshape the kingdom of Hyrule forever. This untold story from Hyrule's distant past ultimately led to the tale told in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and allows players to uncover the canonical events only previously hinted at in the game. Join Princess Zelda, protect ancient Hyrule and live the story of the Demon King Ganondorf's invasion.

But Princess Zelda is not alone in this war. Familiar figures like King Rauru and the legendary Sages fight alongside her against Ganondorf’s forces, with new characters like the boisterous Korok Calamo and others also joining the battle against the Demon King.

Master each hero’s unique signature fighting style as you face hordes of enemies. You can team up with allies to create powerful Sync Strikes to turn the tide of the battle and strategically deploy Zonai devices harnessing water, wind and other effects to change the flow of combat and emerge victorious. Utilize your entire arsenal to unleash devastating combos, overwhelm legions of enemies and topple powerful bosses.

Plus, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment supports two-player local co-op, where you and a friend can team up via split-screen on a single system to defend Hyrule. If you have two separate systems, only one player needs to have the game on Nintendo Switch 2 and each player gets their own view of the action through their device with GameShare1! For more information on how to connect with GameShare, please visit Nintendo.com.

You can scan amiibo2 accessories for in-game rewards including crafting material and helpful items. Players with save data from the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity game will receive a High Guard’s Claymore, while those with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom save data will receive a High Guard’s Sword – both redeemable after completing the Howling Tempests mission!

What’s more, you can visit the Video Games sections at select Best Buy, GameStop, Target and Walmart locations now to demo Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment on the Nintendo Switch 2 system gaming kiosks.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is available on the My Nintendo Store, Nintendo eShop and at local retailers. For more information about the Legend of Zelda game series, head to Nintendo.com.

1 Nintendo Switch 2 system must initiate GameShare session. Users who receive software via GameShare can only play the software during the session in which it was shared. Shared game will not be playable after the session ends.

2 amiibo sold separately. Visit amiibo.com for details on amiibo functionality.
