Media Advisory: Army Veteran from Killeen, Texas, to Be Honored with $22K Grant for Home Repairs

KILLEEN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) and First National Bank Texas (FNBT) will present a ceremonial check to Army veteran Derek Gonzalez in recognition of a $22,000 Housing Assistance for Veterans (HAVEN) grant that funded critical home repairs, including a new roof and siding. The check presentation will take place at Mr. Gonzalez’s home in Killeen, Texas.

HAVEN provides grants for home modifications, housing construction and homebuyer down payment assistance to help veterans, reservists and service members who have a service-related disability. It can also be used by Gold Star Families. This year, FHLB Dallas allocated $1 million for HAVEN grants and increased the maximum individual grant to $25,000.
