HighByte Receives ISO 27001 Certification Status

Industrial software company achieves international milestone in data infrastructure security and information management compliance

PORTLAND, Maine--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HighByte®, an industrial software company, today announced that it has achieved ISO 27001:2022 (ISO 27001) certification, meeting an international standard for its information security management system following an independent assessment by AssurancePoint, an accredited certification body. By complying with ISO 27001 requirements, HighByte has reached a significant milestone in its commitment to delivering a secure, reliable, and enterprise-grade Intelligence Hub solution to the industrial market.

“Security is a key factor influencing the vendors and products that businesses choose to engage with,” said Tony Paine, Chief Executive Officer at HighByte. “Certifications like ISO 27001 are crucial in helping our customers feel confident that security is front and center in how we operate our business and engineer our products. The company’s ISO 27001 certification marks how much we have matured as an Industrial DataOps leader, and that we are continuously monitoring and improving our security posture over time.”

Founded by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), ISO 27001 provides a systematic framework for managing sensitive company information and specifies requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continuously improving information security management systems.

Meeting a Broad Industry Need for Vendor Trust
According to the Gartner® End-User Buying Behavior Survey, “50% of participating buyers said they will not consider a vendor that could introduce risk to their company brand or credibility regardless of how great a product is” and “58% of buyers require vendors to provide compliance certificates.”1

ISO 27001 certification accelerates HighByte’s ability to address the security requirements of its global customer base who seek assurance that their use of the Intelligence Hub meets internal security requirements and objectives.

For its customers, this certification validates that HighByte is:

  • Following software design practices that prioritize rapid response to defects and security bulletins.
  • Has the appropriate documentation in place to cover physical, digital and HR-related security items.
  • Following processes for detecting, communicating, documenting and responding to breaches, meeting internationally recognized standards.

“Our customers trust us to provide a data architecture that ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of their data,” said Paine. “Receiving ISO 27001 certification does not mean we are finished with our compliance requirements; rather, they will continually evolve, and we will remain committed to integrating the necessary security measures in our practices and products that customers require.”
