Five leaders recognized nationally for advancing innovation, inclusion, and workplace culture

Two leaders—Chief Technology Officer Arul Sugunakumar and Head of Total Rewards Sylvia Chen—received the prestigious Asian Leadership Award. Three others—Chief People and Diversity Officer Marlo J. Gaal, Director of External Affairs and Partnerships Marguerite Hillock, and Senior Vice President of General Management and Operations Zisan Tekin—were named Women Worth Watching honorees.

Beyond his role, Sugunakumar mentors emerging leaders and champions diversity across the tech industry.
• Sylvia Chen, Head of Total Rewards, was recognized for advancing fair and transparent compensation practices that reinforce Oncourse’s inclusive workplace culture. Her leadership balances data-driven insights with empathy, creating environments where both employees and organizations thrive. Chen is also deeply engaged in community service, including mentoring early-career professionals and volunteering with Chicago-area nonprofits.
• Marlo J. Gaal, Chief People and Diversity Officer, was recognized for her transformative impact on culture, employee engagement, leadership development and DEI at Oncourse. She also founded Oncourse Cares, the company’s CSR and ESG initiative supporting underserved communities. She’s committed to various non-profit volunteering focused on leveling the playing field for children and young adults.
• Marguerite Hillock, Director of External Affairs and Partnerships, was recognized for her community advocacy and mentorship. Rising from a call center role to the senior management team, she continues to champion equity and advancement through her leadership roles with nonprofits and employee resource groups such as the Hispanic Organization for Leadership and Achievement (HOLA) and SOMOS.
• Zisan Tekin, Senior Vice President of General Management and Operations, was recognized for driving operational growth and customer expansion through innovative utility and municipal partnerships. She also mentors' students through the Turkish Education Foundation, supporting the next generation of leaders.
