CUPE members rally in Toronto to stop privatization and protect public jobs

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Liberal and Conservative governments have been quietly dismantling our public services for decades, and they are doubling down. With a stroke of a pen, they are cutting essential services, attacking education, healthcare, social services, and other programs working class Canadians rely on.

At noon on Thursday, October 9th, CUPE members, striking postal workers and allies will gather outside the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and march across the street to Roundhouse Park for a lunch-hour rally.

Speakers include CUPE National President Mark Hancock, CUPE National Secretary-Treasurer Candace Rennick, Sanjay Sapra and Sharon Paris from CUPW and Lorna Shipley, a member of CUPE 3313 - Ontario Health atHome.
