ModernFi Reappoints Rodney E. Hood, Former Acting Comptroller of the Currency and NCUA Chairman, to its Board of Directors

Mr. Hood rejoins ModernFi’s Board after leading the OCC, bringing decades of regulatory and governance expertise to strengthen the company’s oversight and growth

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ModernFi, the leading technology provider for deposit management, today announced that Rodney E. Hood has rejoined its Board of Directors. From February to June 2025, Mr. Hood served as Acting Comptroller of the Currency, where he was the administrator of the federal banking system and chief executive officer of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), which is responsible for the supervision of more than 1,000 national banks, federal savings associations, and federal branches and agencies of foreign banks that serve consumers, businesses, and communities across the United States.

As Comptroller, he also served as a Director of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and a member of the Financial Stability Oversight Council and the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council. Mr. Hood was previously confirmed by the U.S. Senate in 2005 and again in 2019 to serve on the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Board. In 2019, he was designated as Chairman of the NCUA Board. While at the NCUA, Mr. Hood also served as a voting member of the Financial Stability Oversight Council, as the NeighborWorks America Board Chairman, and as Vice Chairman of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council.

Before public service, Mr. Hood held senior roles in retail finance, commercial banking, affordable housing, and community development in the private sector. Mr. Hood holds a bachelor of arts degree in business administration, political science and speech communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
