Moses Singer Welcomes Litigation Partner Michael L. Simes

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Moses Singer is pleased to announce that Michael L. Simes has joined the firm as a partner in its Litigation practice.

“Michael is a highly accomplished trial lawyer with deep experience in complex commercial disputes,” said Dean Swagert, the firm’s managing partner. “His ability to handle high-stakes matters in court and at the negotiating table makes him an exceptional resource for clients facing significant business challenges.”

Over more than two decades, Simes has represented clients in complex contractual disputes in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the Commercial Division of the New York State Supreme Court, and other jurisdictions. He has served as trial counsel in jury and bench trials with more than $20 million at stake and has secured victories collectively worth more than $600 million for clients ranging from multinational financial institutions to officers and directors of closely held companies and other high-net-worth individuals.

In addition to contractual disputes, his practice includes bankruptcy-related litigation, investigations, and regulatory matters.

“Michael combines trial strength with versatility across a wide range of litigation,” said Isaac S. Greaney, chair of Moses Singer’s Litigation group. “That breadth of experience gives him a perspective that will be a significant advantage for clients facing complex and evolving disputes.”

“Moses Singer’s strong litigation platform makes it an excellent fit for my practice,” said Simes. “The firm’s collaborative culture and cross-disciplinary strengths will enable me to deliver even greater value to clients navigating complex contractual disputes.”

Simes joins Moses Singer from Simes Law, the firm he founded in 2023. Before that, he was a partner at McGuireWoods and previously practiced at Mayer Brown and Davis Polk & Wardwell. He earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and his B.A. in English from Rollins College.
