Tema Launches First International Defense Innovation ETF (GDFN)

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tema ETFs (“Tema”), the New York-based provider of exchange traded funds (ETFs), today announced the launch of the Tema International Defense Innovation ETF. We believe GDFN is the first pure-play solution for investors seeking targeted exposure to groundbreaking international defense innovation.

As geopolitical tensions rise and strategic autonomy becomes a national priority across the world, countries are significantly increasing their defense budgets to address security threats. While traditional military threats to national security remain, emerging and evolving threats are driving unprecedented innovation in modern warfare across cybersecurity, defense technology, and advanced military systems and hardware.

Three key takeaways on GDFN:

  • Pure-Play Defense: GDFN prioritizes international defense companies directly involved in military equipment production and defense technology and innovation.
  • International Focus: International defense markets have been underinvested for decades, which now creates a vast investment opportunity driven by crucial national security needs.
  • Innovative Exposure: GDFN focuses on companies driving innovation across advanced weapon systems, aerospace, cybersecurity, and defense engineering.

GDFN will carry an expense ratio of 0.75% and is actively managed by an experienced investment professional and supported with research from a leading defense equity research boutique.

Important Information

Carefully consider the Fund’s investment objectives, risk factors, charges and expenses before investing. This and additional information can be found in the Fund’s prospectus or summary prospectus, which may be obtained by visiting www.temaetfs.com.

Read the prospectus carefully before investing.

Important Risks: Diversification does not ensure profits or prevent losses.

Sector Focus Risk: The Fund may invest a significant portion of its assets in one or more sectors, including Industrials, Aerospace and Defense, and thus will be more susceptible to the risks affecting those sectors than funds that have more diversified holdings across several sectors.

Investing in Foreign and emerging markets involves risks relating to political, economic, or regulatory conditions not associated with investments in U.S. securities and instruments. In addition, the fund is exposed to currency risk.

As stated in the current prospectuses, the expense ratio for GDFN is 0.75%. For performance data current to the most recent month-end visit temaetfs.com/gdfn. Short term performance, in particular, is not a good indication of the fund’s future performance, and an investment should not be made based solely on returns.

ETFs are bought and sold at market price (not NAV) and are not individually redeemed from the Fund. Total Returns are calculated using the daily 4:00pm EST net asset value (NAV). Market price returns reflect the midpoint of the bid/ask spread as of the close of trading of the exchange where Fund shares are listed. Market price returns do not represent the returns you would receive if you traded shares at other times.
