Media Advisory: FHLB Dallas and Comerica Bank Celebrate New Affordable Housing for Seniors in Houston’s Historic Third Ward

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Representatives from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) and Comerica Bank will join New Hope Housing and other community partners at the grand opening of New Hope Housing Gray, a 135-unit affordable housing development for seniors aged 55+ in Houston’s historic Third Ward.

FHLB Dallas and Comerica Bank awarded New Hope Housing a $2 million Affordable Housing Program (AHP) grant toward the development, with 81 units reserved for very low-income seniors and 54 for low-income residents.

In addition to housing, the development will include a free Montessori preschool operated by Bezos Academy, serving 40 local children annually, and a suite of services for residents, including financial literacy, workforce preparation and mental health support.
